Tribute to City of Lights – 1900 is the second edition in our exclusive Time Collection, a series of limited-edition LOUIS XIII decanters commemorating the year that LOUIS XIII cognac was unveiled at the famous Paris World Fair.

The cognac inside our limited-edition Tribute to City of Lights – 1900 decanter is made from a unique blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie from grapes grown in the exceptional terroir of Cognac Grande Champagne. The specially selected eaux-de-vie are aged slowly in Limousin oak casks called tierçons before being expertly blended to create our signature cognac. Containing aged eaux-de-vie, each one carefully watched over by generations of Cellar Master, every drop of LOUIS XIII cognac represents decades of craftsmanship and know-how, resulting in a unique taste of time that will be similar in the next century.
The Time Collection – City of Lights – 1900 decanter
The LOUIS XIII City of Lights – 1900 special edition is presented in a limited series of 2,000 numbered decanters. The decanter is based on the distinctive design, inspired by a 16th-century flask uncovered from the site of the Battle of Jarnac, and later owned by LOUIS XIII founder, Paul-Émile Rémy Martin.
Hand crafted by skilled artisans, the City of Lights – 1900 decanter features 13 dentelle spikes rather than the usual 10, seven fleur-de-lys in 18ct gold and a central medallion. A limited-edition stopper takes the form of an upturned decanter, and incorporates NFC technology that allows you to register your decanter with the LOUIS XIII Society, and receive a unique numbered medal minted by the Monnaie de Paris.
Each LOUIS XIII Time Collection – City of Lights – 1900 decanter is displayed in a special-edition metal coffret in champagne gold, featuring a medal engraving in each corner. The delicate engravings each capture a unique facet of Paris in 1900 and were inspired by original illustrations from the Monnaie de Paris archives. They depict, in turn, La Parisienne, the iconic architecture of Parisian boulevards, the City of Lights (the Seine river and its bridges) and the golden age of arts and craftsmanship.

Each numbered decanter of LOUIS XIII Time Collection – City of Lights – 1900 comes with a specially commissioned medal minted by the Monnaie de Paris, the world’s oldest coinage institution. Once your decanter is registered with the LOUIS XIII Society you will be sent a unique full-size medal stamped with the same number.
Tasting and serving suggestion
The LOUIS XIII cognac tasting experience is a journey that will transport you through time, allowing you to savour the individual notes of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie that have been watched over by generations of Cellar Masters.
When serving your cognac, use a LOUIS XIII Spear (otherwise known as a pipette) to extract the amber liquid drop by drop, just as our Cellar Master would. Serve LOUIS XIII cognac at room temperature in the accompanying exclusive LOUIS XIII glasses, specially designed to enhance every nuance of LOUIS XIII cognac.
Allow the cognac to rest in the glass for a few moments as you take in its complex aromas. First from afar, then close to the nose. Place a drop of LOUIS XIII cognac on your lips, allowing it to slowly ignite your palate, then take your time to enjoy, one sip at a time.

LOUIS XIII cognac should be tasted drop by drop. It opens on the palate in a burst of floral, fruit and spice aromas. As you taste, take time to appreciate the evolution of these flavours, which linger on the palate for up to one hour.
You can taste the art of time from the very first drop, its unmistakable woody notes evocative of aged oak casks, and years of artistry leading to an explosion of floral, fruity and spicy notes, including dried roses, honey, myrrh, cigar box, plum, honeysuckle, leather, figs and passion fruit.
