1038 Canada Place Way
V6C 0B9 Vancouver, BC
Art, culture, music, refinement and energy. After only being open for seven short years, we are now on everyone's must-visit list when traveling to Vancouver.
To put this place into one song would be too hard. We have live music every day of the week and we see so many genres and styles making it an energetic musical hub. However, it would probably be a song by Bob Dylan. His lyrics and words are so different and inspirational, we actually have them inscribed in a few of our tables that light up at night.
At first it was the taste, but the passion followed once I started to learn the history and cultural influence that alcohol has had through generations and the care put into making it.
I was fortune to be introduced to LOUIS XIII first at a tasting that was held at The Lobby Lounge shortly after joining the team six years ago.
You're not just tasting a Cognac, you are getting an experience – perfection in a glass. You are literally tasting history.
Wow, tough question. I have so many dreams and aspirations. I think my biggest dream is just to always be happy and continuously make as many people smile in doing so.
Head Bartender Grant Sceney oversees the cocktail program for the Fairmont Pacific Rim and can be found shakin' cocktails behind the bar at The Lobby Lounge.
Born and raised in Melbourne Australia, Sceney began bartending at the age of 18 while studying at the Box Hill Institute of Tafe. After working in the industry for seven years, he discovered his passion for bartending during his time working at an exclusive five star property located on the Great Barrier Reef.
In 2009 Sceney made his way to BC where he worked in Whistler during the 2010 Winter Games and then relocated to Vancouver, where he now calls home. Arriving at the Lobby Lounge, Grant has been an integral part of the team and now oversees the cocktail program for the hotel. Grant accomplished an impressive overall 4th place finish in the Diageo World Class finals in the United Kingdom and was most recently named Bartender of the Year 2016 by Vancouver Magazine.
