Inspired by the Gilded Ages, the Astor Bar located on Level 2 of the Hotel, is a bar and lounge combining modern-day glamour with old-world elegance, much like the city that it resides in, Kuala Lumpur. The brass-trimmed paneled entrance with its custommade hammered-brass door knobs, reveal an inviting bar area set against dark wooden shutters, brass accents, rich leathers, horsehair wall panels, luxurious black-and gold marble, and gold leaf ceilings. Set away from Astor Bar's main entrance, is a discreet entrance to a private room, offering the ultimate experience for those seeking seclusion. The Astor Bar's Cigar Lounge is equipped with a special air filtration system and private storage lockers for personal prized cigar collections. The richly layered and exacting detailed interior of the premier bar at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, convey the hallmark St. Regis heritage and legacy of the Astors. The bar and lounge offers an extensive variety of champagne, spirits and fine vintage wines, as well as The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur's Signature Bloody Mary.
It would go perfectly with Dean Martin – 'That's Amore'
I started my career in the hospitality industries by working at the bar; and that was how I developed my passions about wines and spirits. Even though I was young and carefree back then, but I always believed that I have an old soul. And I do love the perfections of making wines.
In my father's wine closet – when I was 18 years old.
Today is the day – take chances, raise a glass!
To have my very own brand of hotel.

The wonderful structure that houses our private member's club for wine enthusiasts today, was originally Hamburg's post headquarters. It was created from 1883 to 1887 by the same architect as Berlin's beautiful cathedral: Julius Carl Raschdorff.
The wineBANK provides the perfect climate to store wines. Our members rent one of the 240 secure compartments and store their special bottles in it. They can access the wineBANK 24/7 with their member's card and entertain their guests in an chic, intimate, 600 sqm setting whenever they feel like it. Above that, wineBANK offers special community events with renowned sommeliers, wineries and partners like LOUIS XIII. At present further wineBANK locations are being created in Basel, Vienna, Frankfurt, Mainz and the Pfalz wine region. The first wineBANK was established in the Rheingau in 2009.
Probably "Sway" by Dean Martin. An intimate feel-good song. Classy, cool, timeless.
I live in the Rheingau wine region near Frankfurt and come from a hospitality background. My wife is a trained sommelier and Christian Ress, my business partner and the inventor of the wineBANK, owns one of the most well-known VDP wineries in Germany, called Balthasar Ress . Great food and excellent wines have always been important to me.
Beluga caviar, Perigord truffels, Kobe beef, 1961 Château Margaux or LOUIS XIII – as a foodie you obviously come across these amazing products. You read about them. Hear about them. And when you are lucky, you might even get the chance to try them. The first time I tried LOUIS XIII was in a wine cellar. And what shall I say: An explosion of flavors. Smooth. Rich. Bold. The finish almost lasted forever. Outstanding. A taste that I personally will never forget.
LOUIS XIII is an experience more than a simple spirit. It makes you want to lay back and kick off your shoes in order to indulge in the moment. What I am trying to say is: If you get the chance to taste it – go for it!
My wife and I are passionate travellers. I can't wait to introduce our son to our favorite places in the world together. Healthy, happy and with a lot of time on our hands.

Art, culture, music, refinement and energy. After only being open for seven short years, we are now on everyone's must-visit list when traveling to Vancouver.
To put this place into one song would be too hard. We have live music every day of the week and we see so many genres and styles making it an energetic musical hub. However, it would probably be a song by Bob Dylan. His lyrics and words are so different and inspirational, we actually have them inscribed in a few of our tables that light up at night.
At first it was the taste, but the passion followed once I started to learn the history and cultural influence that alcohol has had through generations and the care put into making it.
I was fortune to be introduced to LOUIS XIII first at a tasting that was held at The Lobby Lounge shortly after joining the team six years ago.
You're not just tasting a Cognac, you are getting an experience – perfection in a glass. You are literally tasting history.
Wow, tough question. I have so many dreams and aspirations. I think my biggest dream is just to always be happy and continuously make as many people smile in doing so.

The Eden Rock was built about 50 years ago by Remy de Haenen, the island's first Mayor and a much loved local eccentric, celebrated adventurer and skilled aviator. De Haenen choses to build his private home on the rocky promontory in St. Jean Bay, laying the foundations of what is today one of the most striking locations in the world.
"Imagine" from John Lennon. Indeed in one of our Ultraluxe Villa can be found the Neve mixing console on which John Lennon recorded his famous song. Furthermore, this song conveys similar values as Eden Rock – St Barths such as friendliness that we aim to have with our guests.
When I started my studies at the hotel school, I developed curiosity in tastes for both fine food and quality wines. I had the chance to discover epicurean pleasures and I even became fascinated by the complexity of wines and spirits.
In 2004 at the hotel Normandy in Deauville, just after I joined the property. I attended a tasting of the Louis XIII for the very first time and I immediately added as a reference in our wine list.
Try it once: you palate will remind!
Carpe Diem until the last minute…
